The question may be asked as to why I share my dining out tips with you. The answer is, I want to help you save some money. The tips I share are real, and are real ways to save money that anyone can do.

Tip #1 Saving Reward Points

Use points to get restaurant gift cards. I know this may sound strange. Here’s the truth. They work. Yes, that’s what I said, shopping points work. Not all clubs offer gift certificates. Some only offer in store discounts. Others offer gift certificates to restaurants or visa gift cards. The great thing about visa-gift cards is that they that can be used anywhere! You can even use them at your favorite restaurant. Sign up for the points clubs in your area, they are free to join and you can collect points just for shopping. They are totally worth it as long as you use them for your regular purchases. I belong to a points club and I drive a lot. I get points for buying gas and getting coffee. About twice a year I am able to get a free $50 dollar gift card, a total of $100 dollars per year. That’s pretty good for getting something for nothing. I will need to buy gas anyways, so, when I buy what I need I get rewarded for it. It’s a pretty cool way of getting a few bucks to spend.

Tip#2 Purchase Gift Certificates on eBay

Purchase your restaurant gift certificates and coupons on eBay. For those of you who may not be aware of it, you can buy them on eBay, and it’s an easy way to save some money. Simply search for restaurant coupons or gift certificates and see what pulls up. Sometimes you can catch some great dining out deals. In fact, when my family plans a trip anywhere that’s what we do. My wife purchased some really great deals on eBay the last time we went to Las Vegas. We were able to check out one of the best Indian restaurants in Vegas very inexpensively. It was top-notch, and the food was fabulous!

Tip# 3 Save Money by Grocery Shopping.

I am not sure if you have looked at your grocery receipt lately. If not, you might want to. When looking at your receipt, make sure to flip it over. Many grocery stores will print coupons on the back of your receipt. The coupons are for everything, but if you look, you will typically see restaurant coupons too. Recently I was at the grocery store and I was able to get some awesome coupons. One was for a buy one lunch get one free at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I have also seen valuable coupons printed on grocery bags (the paper ones) and even on pharmacy bags. Pay close attention, you may find a great deal in the strangest place.
